I painted!

I painted!

I painted again today! Woohoo!

It’s been over two months since I packed up the art studio in my Chicago apartment and promised myself I’d find a way to paint again soon! I did it!

Today, I worked on one of my paintings up in a dusty garage attic. Joy was on my back and a girl who is also living here was nearby painting too. I didn’t work for very long, but, wow it felt good!

I am staying week to week renting a room in a house in Canton, 20 miles out from Asheville. I wish I was actually in Asheville, but this’ll work for the meantime. My roommates are nice, and it’s lovely having a yard!

My long-term housing situation is still up in the air, but I am slowly making progress. I will let you know when things fall into place!

I still think coming here was the right decision, although I will admit that sometimes I’m a bit disappointed to not be fully settled and adjusted yet! Ha! Surely two and a half weeks is enough time to find a home, get unpacked and comfortable, make new friends, build a new life and routine, and know my way around town, don’t you think?

Even if my domestic life remains unsettled, my creative life is sprouting! Not only am I painting again, but it is also beginning to look like I will be doing a little filmmaking this summer!! More about that soon…
